Welcome to my blog!

I founded Mind Body Fitness in November 2011 and we are celebrating our 5 year anniversary! Over the years, I have been inspired by the strength and resilience of so many people who consistently show up to class and commit to healthy living and exercise. We started with a small group at the Charles Young Center in Lexington, Kentucky, called Sit and Get Fit. Before long, we needed to change the name to Bodies in Balance because we weren't using those chairs so much anymore!

I teach a variety of classes and I love to see people grow stronger physically, mentally and even spiritually through the process of setting goals, meeting challenges and spending time with a supportive group of people. Whether the activity involves lifting weights, learning a new cardio step or drumming with a Drums Alive or HealthRHYTHMS group, the common theme is self-care, self-acceptance, laughter and the capacity to learn, grow and change at any age.

I am passionate about learning and growing in my field and look forward to using this blog space to inspire, educate and share information. I would love to hear from you too!
